Indian Education Parent Advisory Committee
The next Indian Education Parent Advisory Committee meeting has been set for February 8 2023 from 5:30- 6:30 in the McKinleyville High School Library. Attached you will find the minutes from the last meeting .
It is a Success in Both Worlds conference year and the date has been set for April 21 & 22, 2023. The location for Day 1 is at McKinleyville High School and Sue-meg for Day 2. Students and staff have been working very diligently to plan for a fantastic in person event. You will be hearing more about our work and plans at the meeting.
Basketball jerseys
This Thursday our boys basketball team will show off their new uniforms. Much of the funds were generated as donations in honor of Eugene ‘Neal’ Sligh. When Neal passed last August, the family asked that donations be made in his name to Pacific Union Athletics. Neal’s family will be in attendance at the game.
Lost and Found
After the KidCo production, we put out our lost and found items that have been accumulating since August 2022. Very few of the items had been labeled with a name. Please know that when we find items on campus, we do our best to return the lost items to the owners and labeled items can get easily returned.
Mural addition to our school
We unveiled an amazing mural on Friday at Pacific Union School. Lucas Davis Thornton (local artist) collaborated, designed and painted with Zach Lehner’s sixth grade class. This beauty is the first of three panels, all representing a sense of place where our school is situated. This first panel represents where the Baduwa’t (Mad) River flows into the ocean, next will be the estuary, and the final panel where it flows through the woodlands. This can be seen on the wall leading into our great school, greeting all who enter each day!

Comité Asesor de Padres de Educación Indígena
La próxima reunión del Comité Asesor de Padres de Educación Indígena se ha fijado para el 8 de febrero de 2023 de 5:30 a 6:30 en la biblioteca de la escuela secundaria McKinleyville. Adjunto encontrará el acta de la última reunión.
Es un Éxito en Ambos Mundos conferencia año y la fecha se fijó para el 21 y 22 de abril de 2023. La ubicación para el día 1 es en McKinleyville High School y Sue-meg para el día 2. Los estudiantes y el personal han estado trabajando muy diligentemente para planificar un fantástico evento en persona. Escuchará más sobre nuestro trabajo y planes en la reunión.
Camisetas de baloncesto
Este jueves nuestro equipo de baloncesto masculino lucirá sus nuevos uniformes. Gran parte de los fondos se generaron como donaciones en honor a Eugene 'Neal' Sligh. Cuando Neal falleció en agosto pasado, la familia pidió que se hicieran donaciones en su nombre a Pacific Union Athletics. La familia de Neal estará presente en el juego.
Objetos perdidos
Después de la producción de KidCo, sacamos nuestros artículos perdidos y encontrados que se han ido acumulando desde agosto de 2022. Muy pocos de los artículos habían sido etiquetados con un nombre. Tenga en cuenta que cuando encontramos artículos en el campus, hacemos todo lo posible para devolver los artículos perdidos a los propietarios y los artículos etiquetados se pueden devolver fácilmente.
Adición mural a nuestra escuela
Revelamos un increíble mural el viernes en Pacific Union School. Lucas Davis Thornton (artista local) colaboró, diseñó y pintó con Zach Lehner la clase de sexto grado. Esta belleza es el primero de tres paneles, uno representando un sentido del lugar donde se encuentra nuestra escuela. Este primer panel representa el lugar donde el río Baduwa't (Mad) desemboca en el océano, el siguiente será el estuario y el último panel donde fluye a través de los bosques. ¡Esto se puede ver en la pared que conduce a nuestra gran escuela, saludando a todos los que entran cada día!
