Cabaret
On Thursday 6/1, you are invited to Pacific Union’s Dinner Cabaret. Dinner (La Bonita chicken or vegetarian burrito) is $10 per person or $35 for a family of 4 and will be served in Friendship square from 5:30-6:30.
Dinner tickets must be purchased in advance from your classroom teacher or Ms. VanderSal. If you would like to only come for the show, donations will be accepted at the door. Performances will be from 6:30 to 7:30. We are also accepting baked goods donations for a dessert table. Drop them off in the front office on Thursday morning or after school. All proceeds will support our 2024 Arts Festival.
Parent Teacher Organization
The upcoming 2023-2024 school year will bring new opportunities for volunteering in different capacities. One easy way to start getting more involved with the school is to attend and to participate in PTO. A Parent Teacher Organization gives parents and teachers the opportunity to work together to supplement and enrich the educational experience. And with today's tight budgets, a strong, well-functioning PTO can be a teacher's most important ally when it comes to achieving curricular and fundraising goals.
The Pacific Union PTO has an upcoming opening for the secretary position. The main job of the secretary is to take notes during the meetings. If you are interested in writing down the information shared during the meetings and would like to be considered for this position, please send an email to pacificunionpto@gmail.com.
Returning Library Books
All library books are due back by Monday, June 5. We encourage you to look for any overdue books and pay off any lost ones as soon as possible. Thanks for helping maintain the great collection of books we share!
Take a Book to the Beach Event: Week 2
Summer is fast approaching! Are you ready to relax with a good book? All this week you can come to the library to select one free book to keep. These books are on the shelf right by the door. Stay tuned for more events!
County Library Cards
If you have not already done so, now is a great time to get a library card for Humboldt County Library! A library card allows you to borrow books, movies, audiobooks, ebooks, music, and magazines from any branch of the Humboldt County Library. Two Feathers is excited to announce session 5 of our ACORN Youth Wellness Program!
ACORN is a year-long program that aims to reconnect Native American youth to traditional cultural practices and provide mentorship to support the positive development of local Native youth. The program works towards increasing health and wellness through building friendships, strengthening intertribal connections and increasing cultural identity and efficacy.

Free bus rides
The City of Arcata Transportation Division is excited to announce that the Arcata and Mad River Transit System (A&MRTS) is offering free bus rides during the month of June. Free bus rides in Arcata will be in effect starting Thursday, June 1 through Friday, June 30 with A&MRTS offering transit routes that run Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the summer months. El jueves 6/1, está invitado a Dinner Cabaret de Pacific Union. La cena (pollo La Bonita o burrito vegetariano) cuesta $10 por persona o $35 para una familia de 4 y se servirá en la Plaza de la Amistad de 5:30 a 6:30.
Los boletos para la cena deben comprarse con anticipación a su maestro de clase oa la Sra. VanderSal.Si desea venir solo para el espectáculo, se aceptarán donaciones en la puerta. Las funciones serán de 6:30 a 7:30. También estamos aceptando donaciones de productos horneados para una mesa de postres. Déjalos en la oficina principal el jueves por la mañana o después de la escuela. Todos los ingresos apoyarán nuestro Festival de las Artes 2024.
Organización de Padres y Maestros
El próximo año escolar 2023-2024 traerá nuevas oportunidades para el voluntariado en diferentes capacidades. Una manera fácil de comenzar a involucrarse más con la escuela es asistir y participar en PTO.Una Organización de Padres y Maestros brinda a los padres y maestros la oportunidad de trabajar juntos para complementar y enriquecer la experiencia educativa. Y con los presupuestos ajustados de la actualidad, una PTO fuerte y que funcione bien puede ser el aliado más importante de un maestro cuando se trata de lograr metas curriculares y de recaudación de fondos.
El PTO de Pacific Union tiene una vacante próxima para el puesto de secretaria. El trabajo principal del secretario es tomar notas durante las reuniones. Viajes en autobús gratis
