Open House, Thursday, 5/25
Students have proudly been preparing for the opportunity to showcase their work and classroom. Each class has also created a collaborative art piece that will be auctioned off. The lucky winners will be able to keep a souvenir from their child’s class. Classrooms will be open from 5:30-6:30 and the Art Auction will close at 7:00. We look forward to seeing all of you on Thursday night!
Round Table Pizza Fundraiser
Looking for an easy dinner option on Open House night? PTO is holding a pizza fundraiser at Round Table in Valley West on Thursday 5/25. A portion of the profits from dine in, take out, and delivery will go to the PTO to support enrichment opportunities and family fun events for Pacific Union students--just say you're with Pacific Union!
Parent Teacher Organization
The upcoming 2023-2024 school year will bring new opportunities for volunteering in different capacities. One easy way to start getting more involved with the school is to attend and to participate in PTO. A Parent Teacher Organization gives parents and teachers the opportunity to work together to supplement and enrich the educational experience. And with today's tight budgets, a strong, well-functioning PTO can be a teacher's most important ally when it comes to achieving curricular and fundraising goals.
The Pacific Union PTO has an upcoming opening for the secretary position. The main job of the secretary is to take notes during the meetings. If you are interested in writing down the information shared during the meetings and would like to be considered for this position, please send an email to pacificunionpto@gmail.com.
Returning Library Books
Friday, May 26 will be the final day for classes to check out library books. (See below for ways to get or borrow books over the summer.) All library books are due back by Monday, June 5. We encourage you to look for any overdue books and pay off any lost ones as soon as possible. Thanks for helping maintain the great collection of books we share!
Take a Book to the Beach Event
Summer is fast approaching! Are you ready to relax with a good book? Starting this Monday, you have a chance to get some new books to keep! The first week is a book trade. All this week you can bring in one or more books to trade for a new-to-you book. Do you have a children's book at home you and your family no longer want? Bring it to our school library and trade it for a book from the shelf right by the door. Stay tuned for more events!
County Library Cards
If you have not already done so, now is a great time to get a library card for Humboldt County Library! A library card allows you to borrow books, movies, audiobooks, ebooks, music, and magazines from any branch of the Humboldt County Library. Final Writers in the Mist

Two Feathers is excited to announce session 5 of our ACORN Youth Wellness Program!
ACORN is a year-long program that aims to reconnect Native American youth to traditional cultural practices and provide mentorship to support the positive development of local Native youth. The program works towards increasing health and wellness through building friendships, strengthening intertribal connections and increasing cultural identity and efficacy.

Jornada de puertas abiertas, jueves 25/5
Los estudiantes se han estado preparando con orgullo para la oportunidad de mostrar su trabajo y su salón de clases. Cada clase también ha creado una obra de arte colaborativa que será subastada. Los afortunados ganadores podrán quedarse con un recuerdo de la clase de su hijo.Las aulas estarán abiertas de 5:30 a 6:30 y la subasta de arte cerrará a las 7:00. ¡Esperamos verlos a todos el jueves por la noche!
Recaudación de fondos de pizza de mesa redonda
¿Busca una opción de cena fácil en la noche de puertas abiertas? PTO llevará a cabo una recaudación de fondos de pizza en Round Table en Valley West el jueves 5/25. Una parte de las ganancias de la cena, la comida para llevar y la entrega se destinarán al PTO para apoyar oportunidades de enriquecimiento y eventos de diversión familiar para los estudiantes de Pacific Union. ¡Solo diga que está con Pacific Union!
Organización de Padres y Maestros
El próximo año escolar 2023-2024 traerá nuevas oportunidades para el voluntariado en diferentes capacidades. Una manera fácil de empezar a estar más involucrado con la escuela es asistir y participar en PTO.Una organización de padres y maestros brinda a los padres y maestros la oportunidad de trabajar juntos para complementar y enriquecer la experiencia educativa. Y con los presupuestos ajustados de la actualidad, una PTO fuerte y que funcione bien puede ser el aliado más importante de un maestro cuando se trata de lograr metas curriculares y de recaudación de fondos.
El PTO de Pacific Union tiene una vacante próxima para el puesto de secretaria. El trabajo principal del secretario es tomar notas durante las reuniones. El viernes 26 de mayo será el último día para que las clases saquen libros de la biblioteca. ACORN es un programa de un año que tiene como objetivo volver a conectar a los jóvenes nativos americanos con las prácticas culturales tradicionales y brindar tutoría para apoyar el desarrollo positivo de los jóvenes nativos locales. El programa trabaja para aumentar la salud y el bienestar a través de la construcción de amistades, el fortalecimiento de las conexiones inter tribales y el aumento de la identidad cultural y la eficacia.
