SPRING FLING SPIRIT WEEK! Special visits from Kit Kat and Surprises for participation!

Running Club

Beginning this week, we will have an option to be a part of a running club before school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00-8:25!  Students are invited to meet Mr. Puzz on the track to either run or walk and to win feet charms. Running club will be happening from March 27th-May 5th, so have your child wear their running shoes and meet on the track before school!  

Baile Folklorico

Pacific Union DELAC is proud to announce that baile folklorico dance lessons will begin this week.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3:15-4:00 in the MPR, students will be given the opportunity to learn ceremonial and social dances of indigenous people living in Mexico. Kelly Ramon is being sponsored by our Pacific Union DELAC and partnering with our Boys and Girls Club to teach these dance classes.  Students will sign in at the Boys and Girls Club then will go to the MPR for the dance lessons.  The first week will be open to all to see if your child would like to sign up! The class size will be limited to the first 16 students that sign up and sign ups will begin next week.

LCAP Survey

If you have not yet filled out our parent/guardian engagement survey, we would appreciate it if you would take a few moments to answer the following questions. Your feedback is important and valuable to us. Information will be used in the development of the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how the school intends to meet annual goals for all students, with specific activities to address state and local priorities. Most importantly, it will help us make Pacific Union the best place possible for our child(ren).Please fill out one survey per student.  We know that answers can vary by grade levels.

Middle School Dance

Students in grades 6th-8th are invited to a dance sponsored by McKinleyville Parks and Recreation and in partnership with Pacific Union PTO.  The dance will be Friday, March 31 from 7:00pm-9:30pm at the McKinleyville Activity Center, 1705 Gwin Road.  Tickets sold 2-3 weeks before cost $12; tickets sold the week of will cost $15.  There will be no tickets sold at the door.  Tickets can be purchased at 1656 Sutter Road or online at https://rec.mckinleyvillecsd.com/. A completed Code of Conduct and Student Body ID Card will be required.  

Noetic Math Contest 4th-8th Grades:  Drop-in Opportunities

Are you interested in participating in the Noetic Math Contest or improving your problem solving skills?  From now until the contest on Wednesday, April 19, there will be drop-in opportunities before school to explore and try practice problems.  Come to the library anytime between 8:00-8:25 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.  For more information, please contact Elizabeth Simovich (esimovich@pacificunionschool.org).

Noetic Math Contest:  Problem-Solving Workshop

Are you interested in participating in the Noetic Math Contest or improving your problem solving skills? On Friday, March 24 and 31, come join the problem-solving sessions from 3-3:45 p.m.!  We will tackle some new Noetic questions and explore different problem-solving strategies.  We will meet in Mrs. Hughes' room at the back of the cafeteria.  For more information, please contact Elizabeth Simovich (esimovich@pacificunionschool.org).

Golf

Practice is starting for our golf team at Beau Pre!  Starting Monday 3/27 3:30-5pm Monday through Wednesday.

Tsunami Communications Warning TEST

On Wednesday, 3/39, from 11:00-12:00, there will be a tsunami alarm test.   The tsunami siren may be audible at school when outside.  This is only a test.

Club de Corredores

A partir de esta semana, tendremos la opción de ser parte de un club de corredores antes de la escuela los lunes,miércoles y viernes de 8:00-8:25! Los estudiantes están invitados a conocer al Sr. Puzz en la pista para correr o caminar y ganar amuletos para los pies. El club de corredores se llevará a cabo del 27 de marzo al 5 de mayo, ¡así que haga que su hijo use sus zapatos para correr y se reúnan en la pista antes de la escuela!

Pacific Union DELAC se enorgullece en anunciar que baile folklórico baile las lecciones comenzarán esta semana. Encuesta LCAP

Baile de la escuela secundaria

Los estudiantes en los grados 6 a 8 están invitados a un baile patrocinado por Parques y Recreación de McKinleyville y en asociación con Pacific Union PTO. El baile será el viernes 31 de marzo de 7:00 p.m. a 9:30 p.m. en el McKinleyville Activity Center, 1705 Gwin Road. Los boletos vendidos 2-3 semanas antes cuestan $12; los boletos vendidos la semana costarán $15. No habrá venta de entradas en puerta. Los boletos se pueden comprar en 1656 Sutter Road o en línea en https://rec.mckinleyvillecsd.com/. Se requerirá un Código de Conducta completo y una Tarjeta de Identificación del Cuerpo Estudiantil.

Concurso de Matemáticas Noetic Grados 4-8: Oportunidades sin cita previa

¿Estás interesado en participar en el Concurso de Matemáticas Noetic o mejorar tus habilidades para resolver problemas? Desde ahora hasta el concurso del miércoles 19 de abril, habrá oportunidades antes de la escuela para explorar y probar problemas de práctica. Venga a la biblioteca en cualquier momento entre las 8:00 y las 8:25 a. m. los martes, jueves y viernes. Abordaremos algunas preguntas noéticas nuevas y exploramos diferentes estrategias de resolución de problemas. Nos reuniremos en la habitación de la Sra. Hughes en la parte de atrás de la cafetería. PRUEBA de advertencia de comunicaciones Tsunami

El miércoles 39 de marzo, de 11:00 a 12:00, habrá una prueba de alarma de tsunami. La sirena de tsunami puede ser audible en la escuela cuando está afuera. Esto es solo una prueba.
